Fiendsmith doesn't fully set up in under 5 summons, caesar and deusirae's negate are a lot more specific (needs to negate a effect that would special summon, needs to target cards on the field), more chokepoints, no apollousa or elf in TCG. Don't get me wrong, it's still a lot better since it's not just negates (the engine can go on the offensive with agnus dei) and you can access it through any 2 cards, but i'm looking at the black witch engine as the modern 2021 was 30 years ago DPE engine, not a fiendsmith replacement.
