Avoiding communication all together is always better. You just don't open that door unless you want to start the blame train, people getting upset you're not doing what they say and so on.
Communication is ONLY viable if you legit know what you're doing and you exclusively use it to improve team morale or prevent players from getting tilted. That's it. You never tell others what to do or point out their faults. Things only get worse if you do.
