New rumor is hot that Dollywood's new for 2026 ride is to be a new advanced suspended dark ride from Vekoma.
Unfortunately it appears to be mostly screen-based but it's a huge improvement over what was speculated before, which was a standard flying theater.
Now that they've started building the show building, it's obvious that it isnt going to be a flying theater. Of importance to note is that Vekoma built the other major rides in Wildwood Grove so it is very likely that these rumors are true.
Could be like a modern version of Peter Pan's Flight but with screens. Ride system seems very interesting with the ability to transform the feel of the vehicles by matching the track style to the theme and placement of the screens. and it can do this multiple times in one ride layout by using lifts and differing building story heights for the screens placed around the track. In other words it can simulate being low to the ground in one part of the ride and then take a lift so that you are then in flying mode. Sounds to me like it could actually be one of the best concepts for a screen based ride, especially of they can find a way to also have some physical props on the lower level, such as trees etc.
