Oh man don't remind me of this shitshow. Thoroughly analyzing exactly what/how/why it went wrong would unironically take hours of discussion because all the issues are tangled and nested together. It's best to just call it a complete narrative shitshow created by two mediocre writers clearly biting off a lot more than they can chew, and having an agenda that goes against the source material.
