I suggest you actually fucking read the news surrounding this issue before speaking on it. That is not the case and has never been the case.
The short version is that Hoyoverse hired Union actors with off-union contracts. This was standard at the time as the union requires all the workers on projects containing their union workers to be signed to union. This changed when the SAG strike started, as that rule, Global Rule 1, started getting enforced.
SAG has been caught spreading disinformation on the topic and it has been proven that the true goal was to flip Hoyoverse to be a union-only employer, which would force them to fire all their non-union voice workers.
But the worst part of it is that Hoyoverse was never officially put on strike by SAG, SAG instead prodded it's employees to have a "collective work refusal" against Hoyoverse without the protections afforded by the union.
