Double Supernova SNR 0509-67.5 recently imaged by the Very Large Telescope. The telescope's colors of this supernova oddly look like Phainons transformation. Essentially a total destruction of a star.
Located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a white dwarf star first ignited a shell of helium, triggering a second explosion in its carbon oxygen core. The result follows total destruction. No black hole and no neutron star phases to shift into. The outer ring shows the expanding shockwave, the glowing interior marking high energy gas. The star's total destruction proves that some stars can die in a flash so complete they leave nothing behind.
