its very easy to slot round bases into a square tray without effecting the size or spacing. it is MUCH more difficult to convert square bases to properly sized and spaced rounds.

go for rounds. the round converter trays also allow you to add some basing material to the tray making it look nice, and allow you to rotate the figs so they rank up nice and easy regardless of pose
