An osteopath branded “one of London’s most prolific voyeurs” secretly filmed and photographed up to 2,000 women.
Torben Stig Hersborg secretly recorded his victims as they undressed, showered and engaged in sexual acts.
He is childhood friends with the actor Mads Mikkelsen, who played Bond villain Le Chiffre in Casino Royale.
Hersborg’s crimes were revealed when a member of the public called the police in December last year after they spotted him crawling around in the back seat of his Lexus vehicle parked outside university accommodation in Islington, north London.
Officers found him wearing black gloves, sat on top of black plastic bags and in possession of a telescopic lens and video camera.
After he was arrested, investigators found thousands of photos and videos on devices in his possession, including images of women undressing and two of women while they were having sex.
“You had worked out that students in the building felt they didn’t need to have the curtains or blinds drawn – they thought they wouldn’t be seen”, the judge said.
“You had worked out that with the right equipment and laying on the back seat, you could in fact film them in their private moments.”
The court heard that between 2016 and 2024 the osteopath used a long-lens camera to film naked and half-naked women showering, in their bedrooms and engaging in sexual acts.
The victims who were spied on could not be identified from the images, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.
