I understand everyone did this during covid but romania keeps running humongous deficits to this day.
Maybe they think 50% debt/gdp is too low and they have room to run wild for now, but this is just a recipe for becoming greece tier.
The other disadvantage is that they miss out on the ECB dosh, the bond repurchase programme and all other gimmicks the central bank does to keep yields low even for fiscal retards like greece and france. Romania's monetary policy has to be more grounded to reality and thus their 10Y yield is 7% as opposed to 3.5% that it wouldve been if they had the euro.
