Psykers are unironically better at ranged combat if you give him the assail perk. Imagine playing as Sienna but good and being able to pick a gun instead of a staff, my playstyle was juggling spamming assail and blaze sword so I wouldn't overheat and die from using assail too much then pulling out my shotgun for big guys.
