people will pretend that there is such a thing as objective quality to all media, that something's are objectively good, and something's are objectively bad
objectivity can be catergorized, and so a system was developed where numbers can be associated with the percieved quality of a piece of media
however, this idea is inherently flawed, the quality of something is based on how well you enjoyed it, and enjoyment is based on a person's opinion and if you believe in objective quality, then you have to believe in an objective opinion, and there is no such thing, every opinion is subjective
