Victory in the East and the End of the Shinese Order
March 22, 2030
After more than a year of war against Shina, Beijing has surrendered to Tokio after an internal coup ousted the New Left government. The situation was grim: the coastline had been seized, major cities fallen and turned into blown-out husks of their former selves, and millions of Shinese starving and in refugee camps.
The mood is jubilant throughout Nippon. The leader of the free world, the savior of democracy, had defeated the world's greatest threat. Nippon had forged a powerful alliance during the Second Cold War, and it paid off. PDTO alliance members contributed greatly during the war, bolstering every offensive and defensive line.
Nippon and her vassal state Taiwan have gained many territorial possessions from Shina in the peace treaty. Port Arthur (Dalian) now rightfully returned to Nippon. Tianjin also returned. Penglai and Qingdao handed over. And, the jewel of East Asia, Shanghai, has been granted to Nippon. The great population crisis essentially has been solved in one fell swoop as millions of people have been joined with Nippon.
Hong Kong is liberated at last, joined with Taiwan and ultimately ruled from Tokio. Guangzhou, Fuzhou, and Hainan ceded to Taiwan, expanding its/Tokio's influence along the South China Sea.
The fall of Beijing marks more than just a military victory—it heralds the beginning of a new geopolitical order in Asia. The once-dominant Shina has fractured; its ideology discredited, its military shattered, and its people scattered. The PDTO, once a coalition formed in the shadows of global uncertainty, now stands unchallenged in the region.
Nippon, emerging as the undisputed power in Asia, now looks to secure its gains and transition from war to governance. The world watches with a mixture of admiration and unease as the balance of power shifts decisively eastward.
