Mindless consoomer culture is designed to be just barely sufficient to numb the pain of going to a shit job for 10+ hours a day, and then it gets replaced with NEW THING TO BUY on endless repeat.

The disgust response is about the fact that someone decided to give up creating something cool and new so he could fit into and be chewed up by the garbage machine.
