There's never really been a fool proof plan for drafting/evaluating Quarterbacks but guys with the ability to play complimentary football and not put the team in bad spots with reckless play is always something that has been underrated by people especially here. I watched a ton of Nix games right back to his Auburn days that's how I knew he was going to be great. His bad games you could always see the talent and the reason why he struggled. His ability to throw, escape sacks and extend plays was obvious. What people put too much stock into was that he didn't put up good numbers playing in the SEC in 2020 and 2021. They changed coaching staffs and kept fucking around benching him and switching out QBs between drives in 2021 which would throw off the rhythm of the offence. Dan Lanning did a hell of a job coaching him up at Oregon and by 2023 you saw what a complete player he was with his only limitations seeming to be throwing deep outside the numbers.
