My lore is the shittier violent goblins are the ones that get culled and outbred by the more amicable goblins. Through natural selection, the cuter and less evil goblins will begin to flourish. The gobbo on the right like the abbo version, a genetic deadend trying to cargo cult the one on the left, not understanding why humans aren't nice to them. I do think the cuter, more human-like goblins do have evil tendencies expressed in their genes, which result in some being underhanded, sneaky, violent, and generally bad, but they have the intellect not to be overtly evil like their more violent cousins.
