Oh shit you're right, that would've been great. Unfortunately taking a quick look at the workshop didn't find me anything that can temporarily morph a pawn into something else.
I guess I can just chalk it up to the witches not being skilled enough to do spells like that, they don't even have a cauldron to concoct things in yet
