because the devs can’t program anything new with the engine anymore, they’re just making existing mechanics faster, but they forget that (1) 70% of the playerbase is not in Japan and (2) the game has a dogshit amount of lag/snapshot/animation lag. when mechanics are faster than the average latency, the game fails to ascertain the player’s skill as instead playing the game is about managing latency. this means that each player will have a different skill check depending on his/her distance from the datacenter, whereas the intent is for content to measure your skill “objectively”. you may defend this by saying “lol skill issue” at anyone in the east coast, but ultimately it is still a BAD game design.
