October 1st is the day Tesla loses all it's subsidies. When that happens, combined with the failure of Robotaxi, the company might no longer be profitable. SpaceX, OTOH, is very profitable. It makes perfect financial sense for Elon to hype up SpaceX and shift his focus there.
