We are at THIS side of the road side travel craze dying down after rationing ended. Not after the craze ended, but we are so far off it most of the tavern or roadside places are literally in a position where the owners are retiring if they have not been bankrupted.
That is where you used to go to get baked chicken, pea side-dishes, actual triangle sandwiches, etc
We are also post the more interesting period of Pax America with Coca Cola and Wonderbra.
