Majority of the humans that became human pets were at their lowest point whether socially, financially, or emotionally and in a desperate attempt to continue living they give themselves up to a “pet” center. While it can be a choice, in this AU, human pets are considered the lowest in the social ladder (apart from criminals) even lower than homeless people and most people in this society will look down on them. It is incredibly rare to have a “pet” center treat them like human beings meaning both Matsun and Showtime got really lucky when they chosen one that treated them properly
>Are there regular pets in this AU?
Yes and they outrank human pets
>Can human pets use public restrooms?
Yes and no, that entirely depends on the owner if they are allowed to
>Who can get human pets?
Almost anyone really, someone from a high income to below average income can afford a human pet. Most from the high income class unfortunately treat their human pets like accessories or just got them for sexual purposes while people in the below average class often treat them better
>How did Matsun end up in the pet center?
After getting fired from his marketing job, he became a NEET for a while and tried getting back on his feet but unfortunately none of that worked out. Was emotionally at his lowest when he lost his apartment and decided to turn himself in. He was happy for a bit when he got chosen but his previous owners only love-bombed him to show off to their friends and was later returned.
>How did Showtime end up in the pet center?
He was always known to be a weird and awkward person making him already a bit of an outcast in society. When a specific video where he was asking random people if they wanted his autograph started going around, his social reputation took a big hit due to how odd the video was. He was forced to turn himself in to a pet center due to A LOT of people saying he doesn’t deserve to live among them but even after all that, he continues to stay upbeat, positive and even tried to entertain the people running the pet center he was in

Speaking Mysta, I wanted to confess this on Sunday but Showtime really did remind me a lot like Mysta when I first watched him so I was skeptical and hesitant to keep an eye on him. Ofc I love him now
