“Matsun! I’m home, come here!” I yelled across the hall of my home. I hear quick shuffling coming from upstairs then little thumps from the stairs indicating he’s heading down.
When he comes down however, he not only sees me but a new person standing next to me. It was human fox hybrid.
He had bright, red hair with white highlights and had a black collar to match his red and black outfit. His ears and tail twitching in excitement.

“Matsun, this is Show. He will be living with us for now on, he’s friendly! So i’m sure you two will get along well. Why don’t you two get to know each other while I prepare dinner, ok?”

While Showtime smiles, Matsun deep down wanted to scream. He hated him already, so what that he seems more energetic than him? He can be that too, why get a new pet?! Was I… not showing much love to her? Show sat down on the couch and tries striking up a conversation with him.
He asked all sorts of questions about him and his owner but Matsun just stays quiet, no way he’s ever going to get along with him.

“Salmon boys, time to eat!” Great, dinner time with him…

It was quite silent, too silent. Show tried to break the ice by cracking jokes or praise me for my cooking. However, Matsun always throws in passive-aggressive remarks stating how that joke wasn’t too funny or how he doesn’t mean those compliments. Matsun then claimed how I only got him for “my pleasure” and how I don’t really care about him. Show’s ears went down as he said that, I snapped and immediately sent Matsun to his room to which he did obey while angrily muttering under his breath.

After comforting Show by rubbing his ears and waited a few minutes, I went in Matsun’s room. He was laying down on the bed facing away from the door. I sat on his bed and broke the silence
“Matsun, that was very awful of you to say.”
He then retorted saying that I should get rid of him then since I already replaced him.
I deeply sighed and laid down next to him, I told him how I didn’t replace him and actually got Show to keep him company while i’m busy with work.
He thought about it, deep down… she was right. Lately he’s been getting lonely by himself at the house, sure drawing is fun to pass the time along with games and although his owner makes up for it… it would actually be nice to have another friend.

“I love you still Matsun, but I’m taking your drawing tablet and games away. You’re not getting these back until you apologize to Show. Understand?”
He nodded and with that, I kissed him on his forehead, took his stuff and left his room for him to think and reflect.

I wrote that post. I was lurking into a few threads because I was curious about how JP vtuber threads post for small or unknown corpos and came across that post. I hated how even in those threads where I'd expect there to be more hardcore weebs who know their terminology still use "fujo" as a general term for female anime fans, so I spoke up (but also because they were saying some flat out misinformation).

I'm an active participator in most of if not all the boys' chats. You know how once in a while there's a grayname that will introduce themselves in chat and say how they found a vtuber? I read those and a lot of them have said they found Lucien in particular because of his singing. This happened a lot during the time when Avallum had their 3D and released more music, whether it be covers or original songs. Some found them through viral clips like the Spanish zatsudan stream and others found them through friends sharing the boys around. Early on into their debuts, Avallum made some small references to niji girls (Rosco singing that chant to Diamond City Lights, Gale saying a Rosemi catchphrase, etc) and no one in chat caught on. Now that FSP has it's own culture they make less references, but I vividly remember lots of active chatters saying they've never watched a vtuber before. I think it's good that they've tapped into a brand new audience and they should continue playing to their strengths. Obviously they can't produce lots of music quickly and it takes time, but I like how it's proof that you don't always need to have lots of collabs to gain fans. As for nijifans dropping them, there have been a few I've seen besides myself and maybe some anons here. Maybe not fully dropped since their boy-only collabs are still pretty fun, but I have seen a few names in chat that were active in niji chats but changed their profile pics or names. There's also some people on twitter of course, and there were a LOT of superchats the boys got saying how comforting and welcoming the fanbase is compared to previous vtuber fanbases they've been in. That's not only niji though, because sometimes the Holostars fanbase can be pretty hostile too. Some might call it "leeching", but for starters if the person wasn't comfortable in the fanbase they were currently in they would have left whether FSP existed or not. Second, both Nijiboys and Starsboys are still more popular than FSP, so that argument falls apart.

Most people who watch male vtubers don't care about corpo label and watch whoever they find interesting. Some completely drop a corpo, some just watch their previous corpo less and FSP more. And it's not just niji.

Funny enough, I think that was the case around the beginning of the branch. I hate to stereotype them but there were a lot of niji fans who found FSP and were being weird about them because they weren't doing mixed collabs. Some even went as far as to joke about them being "misogynistic" because they didn't collab with girls. We've also had people on twitter and in chat begging for a female gen and to the surprise of no one, you check their accounts and they're primarily niji fans. The boys started to be more stern about the company being male-only since they kept asking so many times, with Zanny doing the harshest wake-up call to them with his based rants about not being like every other corpo out there.

It is incredibly rare to have a “pet” center treat them like human beings meaning both Matsun and Showtime got really lucky when they chosen one that treated them properly

Yes and they outrank human pets

Yes and no, that entirely depends on the owner if they are allowed to

>Who can get human pets?
Almost anyone really, someone from a high income to below average income can afford a human pet. Most from the high income class unfortunately treat their human pets like accessories or just got them for sexual purposes while people in the below average class often treat them better

>How did Matsun end up in the pet center?
After getting fired from his marketing job, he became a NEET for a while and tried getting back on his feet but unfortunately none of that worked out. Was emotionally at his lowest when he lost his apartment and decided to turn himself in. He was happy for a bit when he got chosen but his previous owners only love-bombed him to show off to their friends and was later returned.

>How did Showtime end up in the pet center?
He was always known to be a weird and awkward person making him already a bit of an outcast in society. When a specific video where he was asking random people if they wanted his autograph started going around, his social reputation took a big hit due to how odd the video was. He was forced to turn himself in to a pet center due to A LOT of people saying he doesn’t deserve to live among them but even after all that, he continues to stay upbeat, positive and even tried to entertain the people running the pet center he was in

The next day after accepting the task, Bettel heads to the prison in full jester garb and checks in with the guard. He walks with the humorist down the corridor and starts explaining the situation with these specific prisoners. "We're used to having rowdy inmates, but these handful have given us difficulty and disorder more than our regular prisoners," begins the guard. "We've been having trouble with these seven for a while now, and lately it's gotten beyond our control. We've tried everything from food, therapy, and even music, but nothing seems to calm them down." He leads him into a small room with a circular stage in the middle. There are seven men sitting down, all with an irritated aura about them. "This was our last resort, and you are our only hope." "Oh, well doesn't that sound reassuri- wait why does it sound so ominous? What do you mean last ho-" before Bettel could finish, the door shuts behind him. "Don't worry!" says the guard through the bars at the top of the door. "Just make them laugh and everything will be fine!" Bettel tries to get some answers out of him, but he can already feel the impatient aura from the prisoners. He knew he needed to make these gruff, muscled, smelly prisoners laugh somehow, because he didn't want to even imagine what would happen if he set one of them off with a bad joke.

I haven't been able to come up with a good doujinshi idea for Holostars that I could write a whole completed story for in over a year! I really really like this one, probably because it'll have humiliation too. I kinda wanna do a series of the rest of Vanguard doing sexual tasks to raise money for the Tempus guild, especially Shinri because that body and that cloth that goes over his mouth is too erotic to not make lewds of. Showtime smiled and comforted Matsun, he told him how he ended up in the human pet center and appreciated the compliment about his personality but Show also said Matsun is just as great like he is.
I mean, why would his owner be so nice to him if she didn’t like his personality? He stated.

He understands his jealousy but he hopes that they can get along better for now on. As both of them hugged, they decided to work together on a meal for dinner to surprise their owner while also getting to know each other more. Both of them found out they like strawberry ice cream and enjoy drawing in their spare time though Show praises Matsun for taking his art more seriously compared to him.

When I got home, I smiled as I see them drawing on the table along with a plate full of gyoza in the center all while telling jokes to each other.
