While I dont feel THAT strongly about it, P5R hate is the most retarded contrariannigger shit ever. In the past months I’ve replayed FES and P4G, played Reload, and finally revisited Royal after 3 years; I can confidently say P5R is the strongest Nusona game. It (unfortunately) sacrifices having a more ironclad story like that of its predecessors with having a much more fun gameplay loop which actually feels deserving of the time you invest in it. In a perfect world it wouldnt be a “tradeoff”, but despite its flaws the story is still decent, which goes up into fantastic on Third Semester. No one ever gives it credit for how it innovates on the mainstay concepts established by the previous games to make a unique experience for both newcomers and returners to the franchise, because that would be admitting P5 did something cool and creative. In a perfect world where “popular = bad” wasn’t the mindset of jaded schizos, P5 wouldn’t be shit on nearly as much as it is by Persona “fans”. It’s not popular for no reason
