My ex got a restraining order against me. How will this realistically impact me? I don't plan on going for any jobs with clearances or working with children/vulnerable populations. It won't expire for 2 years and I have no intentions to get into contact in any way and I can't get a gun. I'm unemployed right now and wondering if jobs do background searches that have civil cases come up. If it does come up, am I automatically out of the search? It's a tough job market so I'd be surprised if they even let me explain myself if I got that far someplace.
