I guess this is the BF6 thread. I'm 28 hours, completed all the challenges, and in and here are my thoughts.
GOOD
>audio
>visuals
>destruction
>no EA launcher
>player movements
>lots of customization options
>tank canons feel super punchy when shooting
>assault rifles, SMGs, carbines, and sniper rifles all feel satisfying to shot
BAD
>assault is too OP
>guns have fake names
>frame rate fluctuates widely
>machine guns feel unsatisfying, slow, and week
>open weapons is the default in all the game modes
>breakthrough needs better balance (attackers on Siege of Cairo almost never win)
>no server browser means...
>I get stuck playing the same map over and over and over and over
>no persistent servers means if you get a good, balanced game with lots of communication and teamwork, then you're SOL and rerolling next match
>PC players are stuck playing with console drones (PLEASE tell me PC players can turn this off in the full game)
>^^^this is really my biggest grief since console kiddies play like shit, don't read chat, can't use chat, and just instantly flee a point after taking it, meaning you lose it in a matter of moments, meaning you can't win a match of Breakthrough if you have too many console thirdies on your team
What I'd like to see changed/tweaked/make it into the final version
>server browser
>closed weapons by default
>turn down the TTK just a bit
>turn up recoil just a bit
>bigger maps with more verticality
>more vehicles, including ships and naval stuff
>option for PC users to turn off crossplay
>really hope the cosmetics don't shit the bed and begin to look too goofy and out of place - keep them grounded
Is Battlefield back? Frankly, it's about as back as can be expected in the current year, given the trends in gaming, corporate expectations, culture, etc. I'll probably play this game a ton, but it does feel like it lacks the absolute freedom and craziness of previous battlefield games I'll probably continue playing 4 and 1 in addition to 6.
