We literally have 4 years of people talking about their stores and what they carry or don't carry. Even this guy backs me up in common knowledge >>11473048 about Walgreens.
Theres weekly videos from a hundred youtubers desperate to make money showing off what they can find in their local stores. No GI Joes, since the movie bombed and they clearanced out the movie figures. These are major retailers with thousands of stores in the US, and losing any of them is a major hit.
And since you worked at Target, you know that there WAS dedicated space and you know that it didn't disappear just because they ran out of stock. This is why we knew we could blame Winter Destro for killing all chance of us not being able to find Wave 3 - 6 during the Pursuit of Cobra era. Back then, almost every single store was supposed to have identical in stock.
Today? Half my Walmarts don't carry GI Joe or McFarlane DC figures, but the other half do, even if they ran out of stock. ... Well, i lied, because these Walmarts put up the Superman figures up on display starting the other week and some kept the DC figs in the collectors section.
Again, i don't see how any toy company would be happy with meagar support they're getting now compared to how it used to be. Even just 3-2 years ago, the difference is noticeable.
Maybe as a fan you're happy that you get your nostalgiawank material, so you can relive finding Winter Destro in your store shelves again, but as someone who actually remembers all his shelf warming and killing off the regular shipments to my local stores, that we even had HALF waves, full of old figures because some fans missed out previous waves.... well, maybe that shelf warming wasn't happy times, because look at how many amazing figures i missed out on. But at least we they still made amazing figures.
