I just got a new non-stick pan (yes ideally you shouldnt use them I get it pls no bully) and on the instructions it says to rub it with oil after washing for first use. I don't get why. You season a cast iron to create a non-stick layer by heating it up almost empty to polymerize the oil which you obviously shouldn't do with non-stick and is not necessary since it already has a non-stick PTFE layer. I do use oil even with a non-stick pan but just on the bottom and the instructions sound like you should coat the entire pan. Anyone knows the purpose of this instruction?
