I think you underestimate what people like and how loyal they are. He is a major character in gquacks but the other series have something for everyone.
most people will default to some type of fujo ship or you have the yumes who have been drawing the same guy/girl for 15 years. People who enjoyed his cameo will continue to be ecstatic, new chaliafags will be loyal to their man, and when they watch older shows will pick up new waifus or just ship the guys together.
