Group fishing is always sovl.
Blizz tried to recreate Garrison fishing parties with the Dalaran area but it just wasn't the same.
I think they were even planning to do some kind of ff14 ocean fishing style event in DF with that Tuskar turtle boat that went all around Azeroth but just didn't have time to attach some kind of event to it, though it did provide a nice little avenue for potential RP events.
