What exactly constitutes a vehicle platform? Subframe design and suspension/drivetrain mounting positions? Is there any parity of structural parts within two or more vehicles in the same platform? Or is it really just designing one car and making it slightly larger/smaller as the basis for similarly sized vehicles? And if that's the case, where do you draw the line of when a design is too dissimilar to be considered on the same platform?
