Problem is that ygo don't have anything to leash players, if you can summon gay dragon of infinite negates + a full board, go ahead, issue get worse because konami enabled such gameplay and created handtraps to counter this, and then made new decks that ignore handtraps making whole new cycle.

Roach and shifter are just crappy bandaid for turn skip, not saying that other TCGs don't have their own share of bullshit, but take digimon for example, go overboard and your turn immediately ends, it never really stopped anything fancy like diablomon from clogging board or other bullshit.
