>Is it feasible?
Works on my machine, as they say.
>What if I want to play the newest titles?
Oh, sorry. I don't know. If I wanted to play the latest slop then I'd likely need to upgrade my PC regardless of operating system. I'd also need to stop having good taste.
>MMOs?
If your goal is primarily online gaming then you'll probably have a bad time, because publishers don't want to think about adequately covering another operating system with anti-cheat spyware. Based on what I've heard, anti-cheat for Linux isn't that good, and there aren't enough Linux users to justify the investment in making it good if that's even possible.
>Also what distro?
I use Linux Mint and others have already recommended that, but I haven't compared it to anything except Ubuntu, which I dropped almost immediately because GNOME is awful (and no, I wasn't prepared to switch desktop environments manually on day 2 of using Linux, which probably would have been more effort than just switching to a distro that comes with a good DE anyway).

I haven't played the sequels yet because I wanted to do this one first, so I can't compare it to the rest of the series, but it's fun. The AI is pretty dumb but it adds to the humor (see >>>/vg/530940459).
It pretty much just works with Proton 9, but if you want a frame rate cap and/or Vsync then you'll need to force it with other programs or driver options (same as on Windows).
