Sepang Promoter Reveals Plans for GT500 Wildcard in 2026
>HARO Sports & Entertainment, the promoter for this weekend’s SUPER GT race at Sepang, has revealed plans for a GT500 wildcard entry for next year’s event.
>Hasan described the plans, which would be a first in the history of SUPER GT, as a “work in progress” with no manufacturer currently attached to the project, although he expressed a desire for one of the drivers to be Malaysian.
>He added that such a project was important to “keep up the momentum, to create something bigger” that would enable the event to draw an even larger crowd in 2026.
>This weekend’s event features two wildcard entries on the grid in the GT300 class, with Earl Bamber Motorsport operating a Porsche 911 GT3 R and an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo that each have a local driver as part of their respective driver lineups.
Pog. The EBM entries were wayyyy off the pace this weekend though and were nothing but moving chicanes even for the other GT300s
