Them doing the hybrid retardation is "lean into the horror side of things". The franchise doesn't need to become horrorslop, it needs to return to its intellectual roots and actually be about something other than "rawr dinosaurs escaped their cages". Some of the best scenes in the original movie don't even have any dinosaurs in them.
