In my experience, re-writing is pointless. The 80% solution really is best with webnovels. If tradpub ever wants it, they'll give you a real editor to help you with rewriting for market.
Like my current story is written like shit. The bonus content I'm writing now after the fact is WAY more entertaining to read. But fuck if I'm going back to rewrite the original story. I'll just leave it up and move on to the next story, which will be even better than what I'm writing now.
And the end goal isn't writing the great 4chan novel anyway. It's getting $17k/month on patreon for shitting out two short chapters a week of slop. I won't get there by endlessly rewriting: I'll only get there by moving forward, one chapter at a time. Besides which, even if you demand a certain level of quality of yourself, you still need to finish that first draft so you can rewrite it.
