This. Such an armory of guns makes sense only if it's meant to arm about 30-50 guys. For a nuclear family (and amerifats just love nuclear families and hate extended families, their parents and children) one gun per person plus perhaps some spare guns are enough. One thing they never show of is their hoard pile of ammunition. How much do they really have? All those guns are ridiculously useless and redundant, if they have only like 5 rounds per each.

Even if they would be hoarding guns for a small private army, showing them off like that would be shooting one's own leg (heh). Never broadcast your abilities to your enemies. Keep them secret, keep the moment of surprise yours.
