one must really appreciate how Tolkien had the fucking balls to make an antagonist you never even see, has maybe two lines of dialogue spoken through a game of telephone and is not even met by any but the most lowly and untrustworthy of the characters and still is an overwhelming evil presence and iconic villain. they'll never be another like him.
