I fucking gave up and my fatigue slipped a bit trough when I was roped into assisting another team this week
>please sar we are behind on delivery
>they had no idea what a string was
>they were hallucinating headers that didnt exist
>and added others that werent needed
>every other issue could be solved by googling name of resource and error message
>did not understand significance of whitespace in YAML
>everything was hardcoded, had to sit and wait for them to recompile after every attempt to build and deploy
>build that should have taken seconds took 15 minutes, I had to debug over video so I couldnt inspect it myself but it was a super simple frontend and auth guarded backend to just enter some data
>nothing was cached during build
>all projects in one monorepo, none related
>they all shared the same pipeline that was edited and comitted depending on the project to build and deploy
>including all the fucking hardcoded strings
>pipeline checked out the entire repo and these 49 other unrelated projects, and wasnt limited to depth 1 so all past iterations
>pipeline was stuck due to out of resources and they didnt understand running 5 instances of this resource hog of a build had saturated the pool
And then next day they came back, thank you sar for your help, all good now.
>5 minutes later
>help sar we have this issue
have you tried verifying that these settings are correct?
>yes see here
thats the config, have you checked the actual response?
>20 minutes later of figuring out devtools
>the deployed app points to localhost for authentication
Whoever told you they are all it engineers are lying trough their teeths. There are some of them that know what they are doing, but there is absolutely no quality control. We have a revolving door of jeets that come and go every year, vast majority cant even navigate their computer let alone setup projects without the help of chatgpt
