I'm calling Elden Ring a Souls game because Elden Ring is a Souls game. The perfect Souls game has yet to be made, and Elden Ring is evidence of that due to its stumblings and questionable design decisions, whether a product of mismanaged dev time, scope creep, or otherwise.
