I have one complaint with Fromsoft lately.
It's that they're scared to make the final boss be something crazy. It's typically a high-fantasy king or knight. Maybe a magical creature.

Imagine if they made a final boss like Libra. Or something extremely dark and creepy. A horrific creature. Or even just a dude like you (Gael was...close).

I'm just saying, I'm seeing a pattern. You kind of know what the final boss will be before you even see him.

Isshin suffers from a similar issue to Allmind where they have that moment of spectacle vs real challenge. I fucking hate Isshin's third phase because it's clearly your "victory lap" instead of an escalation in challenge. The first two phases are excellent otherwise, and Isshin himself is just awesome. The Allmind fight has the two Spider C-Weapons that are infinitely more fragile than the one from the first act of the game.

I think avarice is a bait anyway, like all his deals. You finished 90% of runs with the runes for 15 + some goodies, not like you need avarice to get there. The only level breakpoints that matter are 7/10/12, avarice will probably slow down the first two, 12 and beyond is not hard without it. The only time its worth it is if you are specifically stopping at 12 to minmax the libra power, but even then the vigor from 13-15 is probably better.

I was planning to use a relic with +3 vigor and the improved clock, but there's no chalice that fits it.

This worked out quite well however, having a ton of FP with Duchess is really nice, since she can both use skills of DEX weapons and Sorceries.
Things are a lot smoother when I can freely use any skills and spells with inefficient Damage to FP ratios because my bar is gigantic anyways.

Once in randoms i had a rev and recluse on an ED expedition that died at least once to every single encounter and sometimes basic mobs between objectives. They both 3-bar'd to a single crucible knight evergaol before i could kill it.
Went ahead and cut my losses, it wasn't worth it. I think i hit something like 37 rescues on just Day1.

These are the people that play 50+ hours until they finally get an ultra-carried kill on each boss then go "Yep, beat the game."

Since you get multiple chalices there is no harm in setting up a dedicated element build for specific element weaknesses on bosses if you want. It won't be a 10/10 build on its own but it can be very strong at toppling the nightlord.
Even doing that you'll probably end up walking into the boss arena with better gear but you can make sure you have a strong weapon to fold them with element abuse if you need to.
Its a fine build strategy if you want to eliminate as much randomness as possible from your run.

The ideas that they use in every game are still present in ER but they've been changed to be almost unrecognizable from the template they tend to have in every game.
