I wish the rifleman was as cool as OP makes it sound. I have always felt like it was too underarmored, too slow, and too weight constrained. I cannot give it enough ammo for guns, and I cannot give it enough heat sinks for lasers.

Now the Stalker? That's a real mech. Especially when you swap out the 2 large lasers for Medium lasers, then use the weight savings for twin LRM 20 Artemis missiles.
