The way she was handled is already a waste by giving her no independence from Glimmer and being absent for the majority of FiM's first half, so having any bigger role in the story is cool. The only part that bugs me is if Trixie would've fallen under Lauren's aversion to reforming villains if her sole reason for being an antagonist remains just being jealous of Twilight. On one hand yeah it's retarded to try redeeming the personification of chaos and disharmony, but a friendless version of Dashie would have been apt for a redemption arc. You don't have a show's tagline be "friendship is magic" and not reform at least one antagonist through some bonding.
