I'm 35, when i was playing ps2 games and shit like that we all thought SNES and Genesis games were "old school". A lot of those games were about a decade old, they were still very cleary old to us then, from another era. Saying things aren't from 20 actual years ago aren't retro because video games have stagnated since the ps3 era is just fucking wrong
If you're going to say 20 year old consoles aren't "retro" because that only applies to things from before a certain arbitrary date, then you should at least propose another classification of the games and hardware between "retro" and "modern" or current stuff
