I agree with every word and sometimes I feel like I read a different series from everyone else for how popular it got
The first volume or two were so fucking cool, showing so many years going by, sometimes within one chapter, sometimes within one page, while Frieren stays the same. When she took Fern in, I figured we'd watch her grow old and eventually die over the next volumes, but the series lost its core appeal when time stopped skipping, and it just became a painfully generic fantasy story
Quite possibly the single most overrated series I've ever seen on /a/, and it gets to me because of how much I enjoyed the beginning
