It is genuinely weird, YoshiP is very upfront about criticism with the game and goes into detail about why things happened and the changes they will or won’t do.
But when it comes to this it’s like he’s being fed bad info or something and maybe part of him doesn’t want to risk pissing off his writing team
That or the entire team is trying to just ignore the criticisms because of the “icky social issues involved”
