The black pill is that this game is gonna tank hard in population in a few weeks due to a lack of content and there wouldn't be enough people to sustain a 'top tier' and they've foreseen this so they just gave up on it and are rail roading everyone that is sorta decent up there possibly to discourage smurfing. I mean, imagine if your queues were dead at champion. You'd probably just start smurfing and raping new players and make the player retention even worse. At least if you're finding games it might entice you to stick around on your main. Truth is, EOMM isn't about competitive integrity or fairness or anything. It's about getting people to play as much as possible. So I would've never expected skill to be their highest priority.
