The only reason why snape got mainstream popularity was because he was played by Alan rickman (FAKE SNAPE FANS BOO KYS KYS) And all those women were just horny 40 year olds that are now just not horny 60 year olds (Menopause kills your libido) being a snape fan is nicher also within the fandom now than 20 years ago because all the zoomers are for some reason obsessed with James potter, Sirius and remus while they ALSO butcher snapes character. Being seen as a snape fan is seen as an ew wtf why thing now within zoomer circles because they want to simp over James and Sirius while they can't accept snape was a victim

I think it would be hard to cast a man that was snape accurate because there's just not a lot of "ugly" men that are over the age of 30 and still into acting that also have his kind of rare features. Im sure they could find someone that's good eventually because it's basically a free ticket to fame but instead they want to ruin his character for a few bucks
