In the fandom for the past couple years there's been a huge uptick in people going absolutely crazy for ships between James/Sirius Sirius/remus remus/James. This all started from a fanfiction in 2018 called "all the young dudes" (terrible read. They get the characters so wrong) anyway it's comprised of all the young Harry potter fans for some reason, 12-23 year olds. This has done detrimental damage to the fandom. Snaters have become rampant because all these children are making fanfics mischaracterising him and it just gets spread around so much, that the other children reading them don't know the difference between fanon and Canon. They think it's okay to treat snape lovers like shit calling them "Nazis" or other bs. Its a pretty okay premise, a group of guys who are kinda pranksters (evil tormenters but that's how these stupid kids like to see them) go around having fun and messing about in the 70s but they're also all kind of in love with eachother, it's basically not related to Harry potter at all with how oc they make the characters. The real characters are so shitty and plain like it's literally just Harry's dad lmao that they have to create entirely new personalities for them

I don't know. I had a powerful oneitis for 4 straight years. I was so obsessed, I changed my interests, infiltrated her friend group, and eventually became her best friend. I spent every day with her for years. She dated almost every one of my friends but never me. She knew I liked her, but rejected me because I was chubby at the time. She even told me she loved my personality, but is only attracted to lean, muscular guys. We went to separate colleges and I never saw her for almost 20 years. In that time, I lost weight, got married to a woman more attractive than her, had several children, bought a house, and got a good job. I saw her recently and she has almost nothing. No boyfriend, no husband, no family, a soulless (but well-paying) job, no friends, and an apartment alone in a big city. She didn't age well either.

I could tell as we caught up that she envied my life and regretted not giving me a chance. All it did was make me sad. Sad that she couldn't see my potential or value when we were young. Also sad because I care enough about her that I wanted her to have a good life regardless of whether I was a part of it. It seems like she's pretty disappointed with how her life turned out. I hope she finds happiness, but she's 38 now so it's over desu. I think if you genuinely care about your oneitis, you'd never wish to beat them in the game of life or see them suffering in their future.
