Call of Duty has effortlessly been the best selling game of the year for the last 15 years minus the years GTA5, RDR2 and Hogwarts Legacy came out. Black Ops 7 has zero real competition this year and thankfully does not have to worry about its launch window having GTA6 in it. Faggots that don't want to play a milsim but still demand they be catered to exclusively are not serious people and them constantly whining about TMNT or Beavis & Butthead or American Dad and spamming battlefielld 6 in COD youtube video comments is not worth spending time on. BO7 is riding high on being the first real sequel to BO2.
Battlefield's main problem is itself; bad Battlefields are more a part of living memory in 2025 than people's fondness for Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3 a decade and a half ago. It's tried too hard to compete in COD's space and tried too hard to ape COD's monetization without a gameplay format that justifies it, and has possibly suffered a slow fatal wound because of it.
This isn't like Halo where there was just zero meaningful chance of Halo competing against COD after 2007, Battlefield had a winning format that they just chose to ignore because it wasn't doing COD numbers, but also ignored the only constant of the universe since the HD age, the COD audience does not leave COD for COD-adjacent.

Battlefield 6's chance at success will come from strong fundamentals in the beloved Battlefield formula, a mostly bug-free launch, and solid support in the following months post-launch, not its ability to go pound-for-pound with COD.
