Is Battlefield vs Call of Duty still a serious argument in 2025?
>genre standards change
>Battlefield adapts
>boomers complain
Has been happening for 20 years. Aim down sites, sprinting, customizable guns, cover peeking, crouch sliding, crouch running, etc. Saw JackFrags video recently and the movement tech is not at all like Call of Duty's is. Warzone players coming to Battlefield 6 will probably think it's slow and restrictive as fuck.
Also, Battlefield has tight sound design so you can hear movement easier. Call of Duty has shit sound design where people can be sprinting 5 feet away from you and you can't hear them because CoD fags are paranoid about anyone camping.
defend this
both are 64 player maps btw
If you care about any online multiplayer games in 2025 you have to be a retard.
>>717036149Choose a different game mode?
>>717036360The other game modes they showed off were also on smaller maps.
>>717036360Those layouts are both city maps with 64 players on conquest the premier battlefield mode (fuck you rush fags) yet the top map looks like its minimized to fucking extreme lengths
I really don't get these games.
I've picked up a couple Battlefield games in the past. Can't remember which ones lol, I know 4 was one of em.
Anyway, get dropped into a big map and then get sniped by some dude in the distance you cant even see for 30 minutes.
Don't see the fun in jt.
>>717036460>>717036552Did you watch the gameplay videos? It didn't look like Operation Locker or Metro. Wasn't cramped at all.
>>717036869Really? most of the maps looked pretty cramped and CQC focused
I don't get it. Yeah it looks better than the past few, but that's a very low bar. The graphics don't even look that much better than the peak of the snow whatever engine did on ps4.
I feel like everyone forgot how good even battlefront 2015 looked and got conditioned to accept shitty DEI produced graphics
>>717034523 (OP)>you're 35 and time is slipping awaythis is silly. vidya is good and I love to play it. there may come a time when you can't play vidya anymore. it is important to have leisure time in life.
>>717036959They were CQC focused but not cramped.
>>717034523 (OP)Not in terms of popularity, but BF's always been the better series.
>>717034523 (OP)it hasnt been since battlefield went multiplatform
>>717034523 (OP)>"you are old bro">"games are supposed to be lame and gay bro">"just give up bro"shut your unwashed mouth twitter tranny
>>717037757both franchises have been gay and retarded since 2009

Call of Duty has effortlessly been the best selling game of the year for the last 15 years minus the years GTA5, RDR2 and Hogwarts Legacy came out. Black Ops 7 has zero real competition this year and thankfully does not have to worry about its launch window having GTA6 in it. Faggots that don't want to play a milsim but still demand they be catered to exclusively are not serious people and them constantly whining about TMNT or Beavis & Butthead or American Dad and spamming battlefielld 6 in COD youtube video comments is not worth spending time on. BO7 is riding high on being the first real sequel to BO2.
Battlefield's main problem is itself; bad Battlefields are more a part of living memory in 2025 than people's fondness for Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3 a decade and a half ago. It's tried too hard to compete in COD's space and tried too hard to ape COD's monetization without a gameplay format that justifies it, and has possibly suffered a slow fatal wound because of it.
This isn't like Halo where there was just zero meaningful chance of Halo competing against COD after 2007, Battlefield had a winning format that they just chose to ignore because it wasn't doing COD numbers, but also ignored the only constant of the universe since the HD age, the COD audience does not leave COD for COD-adjacent.
Battlefield 6's chance at success will come from strong fundamentals in the beloved Battlefield formula, a mostly bug-free launch, and solid support in the following months post-launch, not its ability to go pound-for-pound with COD.
>>717036149I'm more than sure that the new map plays out infinitely better than the piece of helinigger / rooftop camping shit that was siege of Shanghai

>>717036149>2042 shit because maps are too big>6 shit because maps are too smallI really hope only a couple maps are like this
>>717039432nah, 6 is going to be shit because it has zoomer shooter movement
>>717039432nope, you have the cairo map and the gibraltar map from the alpha which are fuckass small, they just revealed the brooklyn map which is essentially a cod sized map, and the map which they describe as "fully opened for combined arms" is the one with the jets and at best that one is medium sized by battlefield's standards
It's unironically over, they overcorrected so hard from 2042's maps that they hired all cod devs who don't know jackshit about battlefield map design
>>717039658battlefield has had zoomer shooter movement since 16 years ago
except now it's on steroids
>>717036149There's no way this is the entire map right?
>can't even play bf4 because servers kick you for having over 100 ping
Being Australian is suffering.
>>717036149This map looks like total spawnrape bait
>>717039658You mean like "sprint", which was added in 2008, before zoomers were even born?
>>717042243sprint was added in bf2 in 2005 but it actually had a limit you had to manage, and you couldn't strafe while sprinting either so it was in my opinion more engaging to use tactically. Many times 'sidestepping' grenades and such with this limitation while sprinting briefly while maintaining sense of direction and spatial awareness I found very satisfying.
>>717034523 (OP)neither games have redist server binaries so who fucking gives a shit
let the fucking subhuman bugs enjoy their same flavor kubernetes cluster aws cloud slop. JUST LET PEOPLE ENJOY THINGS!!!!
>>717036149All BF6 maps looked so small except firestorm, and crumbled in the fucking cities, I fucking hate city maps. If I wanted to play small city map I will play ground war in call of duty. I recently replayed BF5 with those huge ass maps and that was a joy to play, these all look like shit where you can just go to a building in close range gameplay.
>>71703614964 player maps so big its just vehicle spam
Game dies because people want to shoot at each other in close to mid range
Not have nigger snipers and vehicles dominate the scoreboard
Entire field gets leveled so everything is open
Now all maps for 64 players have 20 which makes them even more unusable
Maybe I'm just becoming old but nobody I know cares about them anymore.
>>717034523 (OP)>Check this guy's Twitter account>He spends all day bitching about the MCUShould take his own advice
>>717036149BF5 had tiny maps and big maps so I'm not really worried about it brotherman
>muh le appeal to death fallacy
idk if thats a real thing butt fuck fomo niggers
>>717036149They're making more small maps because 2042's biggest complaint is how massive the maps are and how long it takes for the action to happen. Small maps allow people to get into action faster and there'll still be bigger maps for vehicle autism gamers.
>>7170361493, 4, 1 and 5 had tiny maps too
