i dunno man, made lots of mistakes but I'm not sure that's one of them. I'll admit, I think my line is a little more convex as it approaches the back of the knee, but it's a very subtle difference.
Outside of the context of the ref though, I can see where it reads as 'wrong'. Interesting dynamic between being accurate to the ref and accurate to the 'idea' that people have of the figure. The latter may be more important.

I think you can also just draw 'semi-contour' lines of a lighter/thinner/softer quality to help describe form. Like, not a 'slice-across' line the way they teach contour, but something to show how forms fit together inside those big lines. Like the glutes and thighs are just indicated there by their 'boundary' lines. But you could put in hints of the hamstrings and outer vastus muscles that would show form better. Also I think there's a missed opportunity/observation on the right hip to explore the gluteus medius/tfl/etc but it's hard to say without seeing the ref.
